Life was defined by simplicity, humility, love, and devotion to God; the family was blessed with a son and two daughters. One day, the head of the household was suddenly struck by a mental illness and admitted to Lahore General Hospital, where various treatments were attempted. Although he was brought home after doctors reported an improvement in his condition, the illness left him permanently disabled, paralyzed, and mentally impaired. Previously, the family had been supported by his work driving a loader rickshaw, but all sources of income ceased completely. After living in this incapacitated state for nearly two years, he passed away. Now, his widow supports the family by doing manual labor at home. Their only son, aged 12, suffers from diabetes and requires insulin injections, while the two daughters—aged 11 and six—are also dependent on her; she is a resilient and grateful woman.
